OB O-fest returns October 10-11
San Diego’s largest beachside Oktoberfest to draw more than 10,000 revelers while also giving back $50,000 to Ocean Beach community

Today, the organizers of Ocean Beach Oktoberfest announced the return of the annual two-day celebration, set for October 10 and 11 where Newport Avenue meets the beach. Powered by Jägermeister, the festival promises all the spirit OB is known for: beers, brats, live music and plenty of beachside fun.
Now in its 24th year, San Diego’s wildest Oktoberfest is bringing back its doubled beach front footprint it debuted last year, showcasing an exciting lineup of bands and DJs and serving up unbeatable drink specials. The Jägermeister Main Stage returns with top acts, including local favorite Electric Waste Band and Band of Gringos on Friday, followed by Wax and BoomBox on Saturday. The Buzz Cannabis Electronica Stage will feature a high-energy lineup headlined by Desert Hearts.
Partygoers can kick off the event in true OB Oktoberfest fashion with 2-for-1 beers on Friday until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday until 1 p.m., along with a Mr. & Ms. Oktoberfest competition, traditional stein-holding contests, brat eating, pretzel toss and more. Attendees 21 of age and older can enjoy traditional German brews, local beer, wine, spirits and delicious local bites.
“After experiencing Oktoberfest in Munich almost 25 years ago, I came home convinced San Diego needed one of its own,” said founder and San Diego local Scott Slaga. “Ours may not be strictly Bavarian, but it’s pure OB, big music, bold flavors and a meaningful boost for the community.”
Proceeds from OB Oktoberfest will benefit the Ocean Beach MainStreet Association (specifically the Friends of OB Program), as well as The Peninsula Alliance and The Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. The event raises over $50,000 per year for community partners and has raised $800,000 total to date.
General admission is $15 and available day-of at the gate. This year there are two VIP passes available. Those interested in Main Stage VIP tickets for $69 can be purchased ahead of time online, which includes entrance, a custom one liter “OB Oktoberfest” mug filled with two beers, access to the Main Stage VIP area, sky bar experience, upgraded restrooms and priority re-entry.
Those interested in the Electronica Stage VIP tickets for $64 can be purchased ahead of time online, which includes entrance, a 24 oz. Surfside or Michelob Ultra, salmon & ahi poke bowl, access to the Electronica Stage VIP area and priority re-entry.
Live music, activities and drinks will be flowing on Friday from 4 to 11:30 p.m. and Saturday from 12 to 11:30 p.m.
