Resident Brewing’s new Chula Vista home

Downtown San Diego-based beer company announces the grand opening of its South Bay "Village House" venue August 8-11

San Diego’s Resident Brewing announces the grand opening of the Resident Village House, a tasting room located at 319 Third Avenue in Chula Vista. After eight years brewing and pouring its beer in Downtown San Diego, Resident found the location that will become its second home.

Located on Chula Vista’s historic Third Avenue, the Village House returns local beer to the space that previously held Third Avenue Alehouse. During the soft-opening, visitors described the Village House as “bright, chill and welcoming with positive vibes”. The location consists of a brightly lit interior space and a front patio extending into the street. The patio will be open until at least September 5, when the City of Chula Vista will either remove Third Avenue parking-lot patios or extend permits, allowing them to operate.

Snacks, sodas and sparkling water will be available at the Village House, and customers are encouraged to bring outside food from any of the numerous restaurants surrounding the tasting room. In the near future, the Village House will be equipped to offer several varieties of hot pretzels to guests.

The Village House’s official grand opening festivities will begin on Thursday, August 8 and extend through the weekend, concluding on Sunday, August 11. A wide variety of Resident beers will be available on tap as well as in bottles and cans to-go. Limited merchandise including t-shirts and glassware will also be available for purchase.

Each day of the Grand Opening will feature an event highlighting a particular beer or style.
