HessFest back, ready to raise funds for good
Mike Hess Brewing celebrates its 14-year anniversary with HessFest XIV at Pier Plaza Park in Imperial Beach
Mike Hess Brewing (MHB) is thrilled to announce the celebration of its 14-year anniversary with HessFest XIV. This year’s event will be held at the foot of the pier at Pier Plaza Park in beautiful Imperial Beach on August 10, from noon to 6 p.m. Expected to attract over 1,200 attendees, HessFest XIV promises a day of family fun, music, beer and philanthropy.
HessFest XIV will feature an impressive lineup of live music, including local favorites It’s a Scam Likely, The Payne Killers, Single Fin, PHT and the Honkytonk Nights, along with New Orleans-based Beatles cover band, The Walrus. In addition to the great music, attendees can enjoy delicious offerings from food vendors, with MHB providing the beer and beverages, including the worldwide debut of Chill Factor IPA, a 6.5% alcohol-by-volume cold IPA known for its crisp, clean taste and unique brewing process. Also on hand will be house-made non-alcoholic craft root beer, hop water and free bottled water. All guests will also receive a commemorative HessFest branded pint glass.
As always, MHB is proud to pass 100% of the net proceeds from HessFest directly to the event’s beneficiary, which this year is Oncology and Kids (OAK), a San Diego-based organization dedicated to helping children with cancer. It’s an all-out effort to raise money for OAK, with bands generously donating their time and talents, and food vendors contributing to the cause, making it truly about raising money for OAK. OAK will also be MHB’s charity of the month in August, with RoundUp donations from all seven MHB brewery and tasting rooms supporting this incredible cause.
MHB’s dedication to philanthropy is a year-round effort, with funds raised each month for various local and national causes, particularly focusing on kids’ and veterans’ causes, specifically in pediatric cancer and veterans’ mental health. Their purpose of bringing people together over great beer around great causes is exemplified at HessFest, the ultimate showcase of this commitment. This one-day event highlights their passion and ongoing efforts to help others and be meaningful in their philanthropic efforts.
“This is our fourth year hosting HessFest in Imperial Beach, and each year we strive to make it better and better,” said MHB founder and Chief Brewing Officer Mike Hess. “Our goal this year is to exceed expectations, not only for our fans but for our charity partner as well. It is a privilege and honor to support organizations like OAK because the work they do is so important in the lives of the kids and families they serve. We know firsthand the devastating effect cancer has on children and their loved ones, which is why hosting this event is so meaningful to us. It is truly exhilarating and a joy to meet our fans one-on-one at HessFest, to give them an exceptional day of fun in the sun, and to show them the impact their attendance and participation make on those kids’ lives. I cannot wait.”
Tickets for HessFest XIV are available online or in person at any of the six Mike Hess Brewing locations in San Diego.
Mark your calendars, bring your friends and family, and join MHB in Imperial Beach for an incredible day of festivities, community spirit and making a difference. HessFest XIV promises to be an unforgettable event that you won’t want to miss!
