Recipe: Ramble On
Booze Brothers Brewing shares the recipe for its recently minted flagship WCIPA
As part of our second-annual Homebrew Summer program, various San Diego County breweries will be sharing recipes for some of their most popular beers, which have been scaled-down for amateur brewers to try their hands at from the comfort of home.
Next up on the professional-to-recreational info-sharing train is the recipe for Ramble On, a West Coast IPA that’s been such a hit for Booze Brothers Brewing, that it’s taken the place of a previous flagship IPA in the Vista operation’s portfolio. If you haven’t had it yet, head to one of Booze Brothers’ trio of tasting rooms so you have a frame of reference before making the beer at home.
Check back to San Diego Beer News throughout the summer for more recipes as well as release dates for beers developed by local homebrewers which will be brewed at local breweries and tapped in their tasting rooms. It’s going to be a great summer for homebrewers and beer fans alike, and we want you to be a part of it!
Ramble On has been a staple here at Booze Brothers for just about a year. Named after the popular Led Zeppelin song, it took the core IPA place of our Buena Vista IPA and has been a wonderful addition to our lineup. It’s a familiar West Coast IPA, stylistically, with moderate bitterness working hand-in-hand with lots of esters, citrus and stone-fruit-forward flavor notes. It has one of the more straightforward grain bills—pale two-row barley with some Carafoam and acidulated malt—simple grains to help the hops shine. This is personally my favorite go-to drinker here at Booze Brothers. In a world where IPAs reign supreme, this seemed to be a perfect fit for the Homebrew Summer!”
