RaR / North Park Sequential Art | Hazy Double IPA (8.5%): A drop from RaR Brewing out of Maryland is a rare occasion indeed! Based in the town of Cambridge on the eastern banks of the Chesapeake Bay, this brewery rarely sends beer in our direction. This collaborative beer with our friends and neighbors at North Park Beer Co. is a soft and pillowy hazy double IPA with heaps of Citra, Galaxy and Riwaka hops. Please join us at Bottlecraft Little Italy this Friday to taste this beer on draft, alongside a West Coast IPA collab with Everywhere Beer!
Gold Dot Sládek Pils | Czech Pilsner (4.9%): If you are in search of stellar lagers from Oregon, you deserve a Gold Dot. In the past, I have sung the praises of this operation ‒ a side project and labor of love by the new generation of Heater Allen ‒ but please permit me to do so again. A Czech-style Pilsner with Bohemian-derived hops, this beer is your springtime refresher this week! Sládek is a varietal developed in the Czech lands, a cross between Saaz and Northern Brewer with lineage dating back to the mid-1990s. Na Zdraví!
Russian River / Brooklyn Fonio | Belgian Blonde Ale (5.6%): Fonio is a “super grain” cultivated widely in Francophone west Africa, especially the Republic of Guinea. It requires neither insecticides nor fertilizers and only a small measure of water, making it one of the more exciting crops in the quest to feed the world without simultaneously starving it of every last resource. However, your first encounter with it may be in the form of this beer! The brainchild of Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery, this collaborative ale with Russian River Brewing includes said millet in a Belgian-style blonde, with all the estery goodness one might expect from such telltale yeast.
