Gene Fielden | North Park Bottlecraft Manager

Everywhere Togetherness | West Coast IPA (6.9%): Everywhere Beer continues to impress with its hoppy offerings. This beer fits the nomenclature perfectly, being a collab with North Park Beer Co. A triple (!) dry-hopped West Coast IPA with a rogue’s gallery of varietals: HBC 586, Mosaic, Mosaic Incognito, Nelson, Nelson Cryo and Riwaka. This Pacific Northwest/New Zealand blend is powerfully aromatic with a gentle texture owing to the premium Pilsner base malt.

Weihenstephaner Festbier | Fest Bier (5.8%): Easily the most anticipated seasonal releases from the self-described “oldest brewery in the world” (claiming nearly a thousand years of brewing tradition), Festbier by Weihenstephaner is brewed in the Wies’n style. How does this differ from the hitherto predominant Märzen? Glad you asked! Both contain Pilsner and Munich malts, but where Märzens have a higher proportion of Munich (imparting that lovely toasty, bready nuttiness), for Wies’ns it is the other way around. This makes for an ideal pale strong lager for the late summer into early autumn. Prost!

Harland DPM Sour | Fruited Sour Ale (5%): Sour beers that are both affordable and tasty seem to have become an endangered species of late. Thankfully, Harland Brewing continues to experiment with differing fruit combinations while keeping the price tag on the lower side. The initials for this beer stand for a tropical medley of fruits: Dragonfruit, Passionfruit and Mango. To my nose, the passionfruit comes through the strongest, but don’t take my word for it. Crack a can and see for yourself!
