Burgeon SimcO’side | West Coast IPA (6.5%): Tucked away in the inland portion of Carlsbad, Burgeon Beer Co. has a dizzying release schedule of hoppy offerings. This latest West Coast IPA pays homage to their neighbors directly to the north in Oceanside, as well as the wondrous hops varietal Simcoe. With whole-cone and Cryo Simcoe alongside classic C-hops, Centennial and Chinook, expect pine-marsh aromas and judicious bitterness. Cheers to our North County cities!

Enegren New Zealand Pils | Hoppy Pilsner (4.8%): Enegren Brewing famously utilizes a rock-solid German Pilsner base recipe to explore the outer reaches of single-hopping. For Bottlecraft’s tenth anniversary, we had the distinct honor of joining them at their Moor Park headquarters for the brew-day of a Motueka edition! Breaking with tradition (or starting a new one?), this iteration features not one but two varietals, both also from New Zealand: Rakau and Riwaka. Aromas of clover and cereal malt predominate, with a crisp finish.

GOAL. Hard Nectar LBM | Fruited Sour Ale (7%): This beer heralds the first of GOAL. Brewing’s series of “hard nectars” – generously fruited smoothie sours – to be distributed. Each letter in the abbreviation postscript corresponds to a fruit: liliko’i (i.e. passionfruit), guava and mango. With a density befitting such a heavy dose thereof, this one is for devotees of tropical cornucopias!
