Pure Project / Ghost Town Serpents in the Bramble | West Coast IPA(6.9%): Our friends and neighbors at Pure Project Brewing produce consistently excellent IPAs of both hazy and West Coast predilections. When brewing a collab with Ghost Town Brewing out of Oakland, however, the choice is clear (!). Serpents in the Bramble is positively redolent with New Zealand hops, with Nectaron and Nelson at the fore. Abundantly tropical yet still boasting decisive bitterness, this beer feels just right for the here and now.
Heater Allen 10° | Czech-style Pale Lager (4.1%): A new beer from Heater Allen doesn’t come around every day! A sojourn to the Czech lands provided the inspiration for some of our favorite Oregonian brewers, who set their minds to creating a lighter edition of their flagship Pils. Moravian floor-malted barley provides the firmament, with both Saaz and its daughter varietal Premiant from the historic hops-growing region of Žatec imparting a delicate herbal impression. Enjoy on a hot day, outdoors if at all possible!
Great Notion Samson’s Tropical Vacation | Fruited Sour Ale (7.5%): The return of the Bottlecraft 9th anniversary beer! With an instantly recognizable aesthetic ‒ a sort of cartoony neo-Expressionism with some influence from “Jamberry” by Bruce Degen ‒ and a name inspired by Ken Kesey, Great Notion is both culturally and gastronomically relevant. Eponymously referencing the erstwhile Bottlecraft Little Italy shop-dog, Samson, this beer fantasizes a beachside getaway for the old boy, depicting him cheerfully surfing with Great Notion’s sasquatch avatar. With pineapple, coconut and lime over a kettle-sour base, this is a real tiki drink of a beer. Samson is now enjoying his retirement at 16 years of age and still lives within walking distance from Bottlecraft North Park. We are delighted to receive a rebrew of this fan favorite!
