Gene Fielden | Bottlecraft North Park Manager

We at Bottlecraft and Bock Bar are proud to debut Wondrous Brewing in San Diego! This four-year-old brewery is located in the tiny East Bay marina city of Emeryville, surrounded on three sides by Oakland. With a strong focus on lagers and hoppy beers, Wondrous serves the residents (and Pixar employees) of Emeryville with aplomb.

Wondrous DDH Made Eyes | West Coast IPA (6.5%): For those who love Mosaic! A blueberry kush bonanza, double dry-hopped with that ineffable varietal descended from Simcoe, this IPA is a clear statement of purpose. The relatively restrained ABV (alcohol-by-volume) of 6.5% is certainly welcome on these hot days! This is one of four different IPAs we received on a pallet just this last Friday, so swing on by to assemble a mixed four-pack of cans?

Wondrous / Schenker Schenkbier | Leichtbier (4.4%): When was the last time you saw a leichtbier on offer? A low-alcohol German-style lager, this style is vanishingly rare, even among breweries that specialize in bottom-fermented beers. This recipe is a collab with Schenker Beer Co. out of Connecticut, which both shares an affinity for lagers and lends a title to the beer. Bright and floral, with high carbonation and surprising body for a 4.4% ABV creation, this is just the ticket for midsummer.

Wondrous / Sante Adairius Gentle Lies | Belgian-style Pale Ale (4.7%): I cannot speak for others, but anything with the words Sante Adairius Rustic Ales on the label is a must-try in our household. The Capitola operation ‒ frequently rendered as “SARA” ‒ displays total mastery of Belgian-style ales, particularly in the realm of mixed-culture fermentation. Wondrous has wandered into the Low Countries with this collaborative BPA, displaying notes of lemon zest, clove and white pepper. A sweetbread element is tempered by a faintly bitter, drying finish, showing true balance at work. No lie!
