Gene Fielden | Bottlecraft North Park Manager

A very special 4/20 edition of the Picks this week!

Fremont Kush | West Coast IPA (7%): A variant of core beer Lush ‒ a terrific example of a flagship IPA that has maintained relevance despite the march of time ‒ this special release from Fremont Brewing does more than simply change out the first letter. With Citra and Mosaic hops (plus more Citra in the form of lupulin powder), year-round Lush is already a treat. This April release takes the base recipe and adds terpenes to up the dankness factor. A true grow house of an IPA!

Fieldwork High & Fine | West Coast Lager (4.2%): The easy-drinking nature of a light lager crossed with the herbaceously aromatic flourish of an IPA, this beer is at ease in two worlds. Berkeley’s Fieldwork Brewing (a hometown brewery for me) has an enormous portfolio of recipes, with enough diversity in styles for just about any beer-drinker on earth to find something enjoyable. This beer will leave you feeling just fine at the very least!

Great Notion Electric Headband | Tart Ale (7.1%): The strain referenced here is well-known to those who celebrate a certain unofficial late-April holiday, frequently appearing in popular culture via song lyrics and iconography. This beer pours as green as its moniker, with a tie-dyed aesthetic that really ties the room together. Lime juice and blue raspberry make for a sweet-tart outcome. Loosen your headband if your hat doesn’t fit right!
