Fieldwork Subsonic Speeds | West Coast IPA (6.6%): A Fieldwork shipment only occurs occasionally, making it a treat when the pallet rolls in. In addition to returning champion King Citra and a smattering of other cans, we received a few cases of Subsonic Speeds. This double dry-hopped West Coast IPA is veritably immersed in Centennial and Mosaic from a single small farm in the Pacific Northwest. Outside of wet-hop season each autumn, it is unusual for IPA drinkers to experience terroir in their beer; this is a rare shining example thereof.
Gold Dot Rice Lager | Japanese-style Lager (4.4%): Whereas it may have initially appeared that Gold Dot would only be sending beer down from Oregon for special occasions (e.g. San Francisco Beer Week), it is to our immense delight that the lagers keep flowing! Along with a refresh on their phenomenally popular Export Lager, a new SKU has graced our shelves in the form of Rice Lager. Intriguingly, the use of a koji mold to kick-start fermentation as utilized in sake production in conjunction with SakéOne indicates a cross-pollination of ingredients and techniques. Kanpai!
Great Notion Single Stack | Maple Coffee Stout (7.9%): Before I had ever even clapped eyes upon a can of Great Notion, I had heard legends of Double Stack. The Portland sensation’s maple coffee imperial stout was said to be liquid pancakes in a glass. If you enjoy that flavor profile but would prefer something a little lower than double-digit ABV, Single Stack may be for you! All of the Mostra coffee and maple essence at a more judicious strength. A breakfast beer if ever there was one!
