Treading Lightly light IPA returns
Thorn Brewing responds to consumer demand, makes its light IPA a core offering
Back by popular demand, Thorn Brewing is thrilled to announce the release of its new-and-improved light IPA, Treading Lightly.
Treading Lightly is an IPA that’s both full of flavor and light in calories, carbs and ABV (alcohol-by-volume). The secret is using amyloglucosidase enzymes which can be used to degrade starch polymers and maltose to glucose in the beer creating a low-cal/low-carb beer. This IPA is bright, crisp, and dry. The Citra and Amarillo hops burst through your palette creating a beautiful light IPA that comes in at 123 calories and just 3.4 carbs while still maintaining a 5.2% ABV for each 12-ounce can. As an added bonus, the beer is gluten-reduced making it easier for those who are sensitive to gluten.
Thorn CEO Marc Martin shared this about the low-cal beer, “Treading Lightly IPA is the right beer at the right time for today’s health-conscious consumer who is watching their calories or just wants a lighter ABV IPA. Consumers provided us with overwhelmingly positive feedback on rereleasing this beer and we quickly sold out of our first few batches. As a result, Treading Lightly IPA is now available as one of our core beers in draught and cans and we are busy
fulfilling numerous account requests. We look forward to sharing a pint of Treading Lightly IPA with you!”
With most light beers on the market being lagers, Thorn hopes Treading Lightly will bring something new for beer-drinkers who want a full-flavored, hoppy beer, but don’t want the higher
ABV, calories and carbs that usually come along with that.
Treading Lightly Light IPA is now available in cans throughout San Diego County as well as on tap at Thorn taprooms in Barrio Logan, North Park and Mission Hills, as well as local bars, and restaurants.
