Timely partnership for Stone Brewing

Escondido brewery and Original Grain upcycle brewing materials into timepieces

Original Grain, the renowned watchmaker known for its craftsmanship and commitment to sustainability, has announced a partnership with Stone Brewing, one of the top craft breweries in the world, to release a new watch collection. This one-of-a-kind collection pulls its inspiration from Stone’s legendary beers and notorious branding. The Stone Brewing Watch Collection is available for purchase online, with watches starting at $349.

“As a fellow San Diego company, we are honored to be working with Stone’s iconic brand to bring the same level of quality and consistency into our watch collection,” said Original Grain co-founder Ryan Beltran. “By partnering to use Stone’s authentic reclaimed beer barrels, this collection is the epitome of sustainability in watchmaking.”

Stone’s iconic Gargoyle is a symbolic guardian for high-quality beer. Now, serving as “Guardians of the Craft”, these collaboration timepieces are the protectors that ward off the evil spirits of cheap beer and bad times.

  • The flagship piece, The Gargoyle Chronograph 44mm, is forged from the oxidized steel and charred oak wood used in Stone’s brewing process.
  • The West Coast Chronograph 44mm bears the branding of Stone’s iconic and trailblazing West Coast IPA.
  • The Amber Ale Barrel 46mm proudly displays the Gargoyle behind Amber Tinted Sapphire Crystal.
  • The final, and boldest piece of the collection is the Limited-Edition Arrogant Bastard Automatic. Sure to be hated by many, and loved by only a few, the 250 pieces will be sold to the most diehard craft beer aficionados.

Using real reclaimed materials from Stone’s brewing process, Original Grain has created a line of watches that don’t just tell time, but tell the story of innovative and revolutionary craft brewing.

“The Stone Brewing Gargoyle has become symbolic of that go-your-own-way spirit that lives in so many of us, and it’s captured beautifully in these watches,” said Stone Senior Vice President of Marketing Erin Smith. “Of course, there’s only one way to wear these timepieces, and it’s with a Stone beer in hand.”

The partnership with Stone Brewing is sure to pique the interest of craft beer lovers, watch collectors, and will make for a top-shelf Christmas gift in 2023.
