Earlier today, Stone Brewing informed its employees that CEO Dominic Engels has resigned from the company. That resignation is effective immediately and will result in company co-founder Steve Wagner step into the interim CEO role for the first time ever. His co-foundering partner, Greg Koch, who had served as CEO from 1996 to 2016, will remain in his current role of Executive Chairman.
“We will be working to find the right person to lead the company’s advancements and growth. We wish Dominic well and thank him for all that he’s contributed to Stone,” says Wagner. “In this unprecedented environment we’re operating in, both Greg and I believe in our company’s unique position in the world, and that we are poised to come to the other side of this pandemic as a healthy business.”
Engels came to Stone in 2016 after more than 11 years with The Wonderful Company, where he served as president of POM Wonderful. During his tenure at Stone, he helped build up the company’s current executive leadership team, including COO Sean Monahan, Chief Commercial Officer Dan Lamb and CFO Chris Bellairs, all of whom remain in place at Stone’s Vista headquarters.
