Oktoberfest coming to Quartyard

East Village to host its largest-ever Oktoberfest event while adding Latin flair

Grab your lederhosen and dirndl and get fitted for the 7th annual East Village Oktoberfest celebration! This year, Quartyard has partnered with the East Village Association to host the area’s largest celebration to date, transforming East Village into a modern-faced Oktoberfest activation with one-of-a-kind Latin flair for the evolving East Village community. Taking place on Saturday, September 30 from 1 to 7 p.m., the German-themed event infused with Mexican verve will feature endless craft beer, traditional Oktoberfest faire, live Polka music and tribute bands, a classic car show and tons of games encouraging guest interaction and maximum fun.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Quartyard to host the seventh-annual East Village Oktoberfest,” said East Village Association Assistant District Manager Ethan Olsen. “With the association’s help, this year’s celebration will be bigger and better than ever before welcoming in new groups of people from the San Diego community to join in the fun. East Village Oktoberfest has always been a big hit and we are expecting another sold out event so get your tickets now.”

The lively event will highlight the history of German influence on Mexican lager, music and food. At the celebration, attendees can expect to sample a variety of the best lagers, ales and local brews from Duck Foot BrewingFall BrewingKetch BrewingKarl Strauss BrewingThr3e Punk Ales Brewing and more! In addition to beer, attendees will enjoy traditional German and Mexican faire including favorites like soft pretzels with beer mustard, Bavarian sausages and tacos from vendors including TNT PizzaPapalo KitchenEl Rey Tacos a Vapor and many others! Market and 13th Streets will be packed with a massive row of family style tables for attendees to sit and enjoy the delicious faire alongside friends and strangers.

Amping up in scale, this year’s event will close off Market Street between Park Boulevard and 14th Street and 13th Street between Market Street and Island Avenue allowing for more San Diegans to join in the fun. The fenced-in streets will be filled with live musical performances including traditional Polka music, tribute bands and tunes with a Latin flair on the main vignette of entertainment. Musicians and neighbors dress the part in classic Oktoberfest apparel like lederhosen and dirndl, transforming the neighborhood into a Munich arts district.

East Village Oktoberfest will also feature a wide array of exciting activations and competitions including a classic car show, two stages of entertainment, games and more. Offering everything from traditional food and drink to exciting activations and live music, the celebration will be open to attendees 21+. Tickets are available ranging from $10-$25.
