Nominate your faves for the 2025 San Diego Beer News Awards
From January 2 through February 3, the public can nominate their favorite beers and breweries for this year’s countywide competition
With the arrival of another new year comes an opportunity for craft-beer fans to nominate their favorite San Diego County breweries and their standout beers for consideration in this year’s San Diego Beer News Awards. It’s easy – and fun – to do, and means the world to San Diego County brewers and brewery staffers who give their all year-round in an effort to wow patrons and enthusiasts with their creations.
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, January 2, we will publish one post per weekday via San Diego Beer News’ Instagram account, asking the public to nominate beers, breweries and individuals in specific categories, with simple instructions and specifications. If you don’t already follow us on Instagram, click here to do so, and feel free to check in to our account along the way to make sure you haven’t missed any categories, all of which can receive nominations from tomorrow through Thursday, February 3.
Once the nominations are all in, we will use them to generate this year’s official ballot, which will be posted online so beer fans and members of the brewing industry can cast their votes to determine the winners in each of the following categories:
Beer Category Awards: West Coast IPA, Hazy IPA, Imperial IPA, Niche IPA, Hoppy Beer (non-IPA), Pilsner, German Beer (non-Pilsner), Belgian Ale, U.K. & Irish Ale, Coffee Beer, Sour & Wild Beer, Strong Beer, Barrel-aged Beer, Light Beer or Adjunct Lager, Non-alcoholic Beer, Collaboration Beer, Alternative Beverage *
Brewery & Brewer Awards: Best Regional Brewery – North, South, West, East, Central; Best New Brewery, Larry Smith Customer Service Award, San Diego Vanguard Brewer Award **, Nate Soroko Community Impact Award, Best Expansion Project, Best Interior / Exterior Design, Best Can or Bottle Design, Best Food / Menu

Winners in every category will be announced at the 2025 San Diego Beer News Awards Ceremony. That grand-scale, in-person event is FREE, open to the public, and will take place at Societe Brewing in Kearny Mesa from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Save the date and get ready for what has become the most fun, exciting and eagerly anticipated evening for the craft-beer community.
