Centrally located with plenty of industrially zoned properties, Kearny Mesa is a well-suited community for craft-beer businesses. But believe it or not, it wasn’t until 2012 that it got its first brewery. Since then, the area has blown up and now boasts a wealth of award-winning operations that are worth a visit. Watch as San Diego Beer News Executive Editor Brandon Hernández introduces FOX 5 Morning News Anchor Raoul Martinez to four such beer businesses: Ketch Brewing, Hopnonymous Brewing, Kilowatt Brewing and Societe Brewing. The owner of the latter joins in to talk about what inspired him to become Kearny Mesa’s first brewery, proving the concept so many would come to follow.
