We took Dry January as an opportunity to show off how far non-alcoholic beer has come. Gone are the days of thin, skunky “beers” devoid of flavor or any resemblance to ales and lagers someone would actually want to drink. In their place are “craft” N/A beers in a variety of different styles unified by their use of quality ingredients, cutting-edge techniques and pride. Perhaps the best non-alcoholic brewery in the entire country, Athletic Brewing, is based right here in Miramar. That company’s co-founder, Bill Shuffelt, joins SDBN Executive Editor Brandon Hernández and FOX 5 Morning News anchor Raoul Martinez to share a quartet of his beers, followed by a great N/A IPA from their neighbors at AleSmith Brewing.
