Ebullition Brew Works closes

North County brewing company closes restaurant a year after shuttering its brewery, moving to contract brewing

After operating a North County bar and restaurant for four years, the owners of Ebullition Brew Works have announced that they are closing that establishment permanently. The announcement came care of a post on the company’s Instagram account thanking customers for their patronage at Ebullition Brew Works & Gastronomy, which was located in Carlsbad’s Bressi Ranch development.

That branded bar and restaurant was the company’s second and only remaining physical location following the closure of Ebullition’s Vista brewery and tasting room in December 2022. Since then, the company’s beers have been contract-brewed by a separate entity.

Ebullition Brew Works was opened in October 2017. In January 2020, the company expanded to Carlsbad. Its kitchen was initially helmed by Executive Chef Gunnar Planter, who came over after opening Del Mar brewpub Viewpoint Brewing. He has since moved on and recently had a hand in assisting with development of the culinary program at Vista’s recently opened Prey Brewing.

In addition to beer and food, Ebullition Brew Works & Gastronomy was known for hosting live music, including a number of award-winning acts.
