Coronado Brewing turns momentum into celebration

Following 2025 growth, Coronado Brewing looks to bring fun and positivity back to beer in its 30th year with debut of Hazy Weekend IPA

Building on a year of continued momentum, Coronado Brewing Company (CBC) today announced the launch of Hazy Weekend IPA, the newest year-round addition to its top-performing Weekend Brand Family. Launching in January 2026 in six-pack of 16-ounce cans and draft, Hazy Weekend completes the brand’s evolution into a cohesive “3-Day Weekend” series, joining flagship Weekend Vibes IPA and its bold counterpart BIG Weekend Double IPA.

Brewed with Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra hops and supported by a smooth malt bill of 2-Row, rolled oats and unmalted white wheat, Hazy Weekend IPA delivers a soft, juicy haze at 6.5% ABV (alcohol-by-volume)—designed for modern IPA drinkers who want bright flavor, approachability and a laid-back coastal experience.

The launch comes on the heels of a strong year for CBC. In 2025, the company’s total dollar shipments grew 6.4%, with the Weekend Brand Family accounting for 47% of total shipments. The brand family itself grew 8% year-over-year, led by Weekend Vibes IPA (+5.9%), now celebrating seven consecutive years of growth since its 2018 launch, and BIG Weekend Double IPA (+17.5%), which debuted in mid-2023.

“The success of Weekend Vibes and BIG Weekend made it clear that this brand family had room to grow in a meaningful way,” said CBC owner Rick Chapman. “Hazy Weekend completes that vision. It gives our fans another reason to reach for a Weekend beer, whether it’s a Friday afternoon or a Monday that feels like it should be one.”

Introducing the 3-Day Weekend

With the addition of Hazy Weekend, CBC officially introduces the 3-Day Weekend Series; a strategic portfolio designed to meet drinkers across multiple IPA preferences while maintaining a unified brand identity. Hazy Weekend will be line-priced with the rest of the Weekend Brand Family and is expected to roll out broadly across CBC’s distribution footprint, including many top chain retail partners.

“Our Weekend Brand Family has become the backbone of our business,” said CBC COO Clinton Smith. “Nearly half of our shipments now come from these beers, and the introduction of Hazy Weekend allows us to capture even more occasions while keeping the lineup simple, recognizable, and strong at retail and on-premise.”

Continued Portfolio Strength

Beyond the Weekend Brand Family, Coronado Brewing’s core beer portfolio represented 85% of total revenue in 2025 and grew 4.3%, underscoring the company’s focus on scalable, year-round brands. Overall depletions increased across both channels, with off-premise up 3.5% and on-premise up 7.1%.

Salty Crew Blonde Ale experienced its first year with slight declines after 4 years of exponential growth, due in part to chain impacts following a 12-pack price increase. It continued to perform strongly on-premise, growing 1.5% in on-premise depletions and remaining the company’s #1 overall draft brand, particularly in California. Coronado Hard Cider also remained a key growth engine in 2025, with shipments increasing 25.1%, driven largely by a strategic focus on draft distribution to encourage trial and reach new consumers.

Built for the Future

As CBC heads into 2026—its 30th anniversary year—the company remains focused on celebrating its roots while adapting to an evolving and challenging craft beer landscape. “As we approach 30 years, it’s important for us to honor where we came from while continuing to innovate,” said CBC Marketing Director Aidan Kennedy. “Hazy Weekend is a great example of that balance—modern, approachable, and still unmistakably Coronado.”

Availability

Hazy Weekend IPA will be available year-round beginning Q1 2026 at CBC’s tasting rooms and through its distribution partners across California and beyond. Additional markets will follow throughout the year.
