As California Wild Ales gears up to commemorate its third anniversary at its Ocean Beach tasting room, the atmosphere is buzzing with anticipation. Reflecting on the journey since its inception, the brewery is poised to celebrate with gratitude alongside its steadfast patrons, friends and supporters.
Established three years ago on the bustling corner of Newport Avenue and Cable Street, California Wild Ales envisioned a haven where craft-beer aficionados could converge, foster connections and savor exceptional brews. Fast-forward to the present and that vision has blossomed into a thriving reality.
Scheduled for May 18, the anniversary bash promises to be a blast with live music, tantalizing food offerings, exclusive beer releases and, above all, the warm camaraderie emblematic of the tasting room experience. The festivities will commence with the soulful melodies of the Tecolote Canyon Band at 2 p.m., followed by the dynamic beats of Animal Control at 5 p.m., ensuring a day of celebration and reminiscence.
Adding flavor to the festivities, Dirty Birds Wings will join the party as the culinary partner, dishing out a delectable array of wing options to complement the brewery’s renowned brews. From classic flavors to innovative twists, guests are in for a treat.
Highlighting the occasion is the unveiling of “The OB Pause,” a double hazy IPA meticulously crafted to honor this significant milestone. A testament to the brewing team’s dedication and the community’s unwavering support, this special release embodies the spirit of celebration.

This year’s anniversary event will be a fundraiser for a cause close to our hearts. In partnership with Campus Awareness Coast 2 Coast, a local 501c(3) organization, California Wild Ales is committed to raising funds to help prevent violence in schools and communities by addressing mental health. A portion of proceeds from the anniversary celebration will go directly to Point Loma High School Mental Health Awareness, supporting initiatives that promote mental well-being and resilience among students and staff.
