Belmont Park gets a b-day beer
Second Chance Beer Co. creates Coaster Cruisin' IPA for landmark's 98th birthday
Belmont Park, the iconic Mission Beach amusement park, is quenching the thirst for thrills and hops this summer with the launch of their exclusive Coaster Cruisin’ IPA, made in collaboration with San Diego-based Second Chance Co.
This summertime sipper was created for amusement park enthusiasts and craft-beer drinkers alike. The flavor profile is refreshingly crisp with notes of berries, citrus peel and pine from Citra, Mosaic and Talus hops. Brewed in San Diego, coming in at 6.5% alcohol-by-volume and 62 IBUs (international bittering units), this beer is best enjoyed after a ride on Belmont Park’s historic 97-year-old Giant Dipper Roller Coaster.
“Nothing screams beachside amusement park for adults like a cold, refreshing beer,” said Belmont Park General Manager Steve Thomas. “With an incredible craft-beer scene in San Diego and Belmont Park’s iconic Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, it was a no-brainer creating something that marries the two. We love Second Chance beer and always have them on tap at our restaurants, so we’re thrilled to have partnered with them on this.”
This is Belmont Park’s first beer collaboration released just in time for summer and its 98th birthday. Coaster Cruisin’ IPA is available throughout Belmont Park, including at Beach House, Midway Snack Shack, Round Table, Belmonty’s, El Jefe and Draft Coffee, where beer-lovers can purchase the exclusive Coaster Cruisin’ IPA to take home.
