Athletic Brewing re-ups with IRONMAN
Non-alcoholic beer company brews Personal Record IPA for Ironman Global Series
Athletic Brewing, America’s leading producer of non-alcoholic craft beer, is proud to announce its return as the official non-alcoholic beer provider of the 2023 IRONMAN Global Series. Athletic Brewing has also been named the title sponsor of IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, happening April 1.
To celebrate its continued partnership with the IRONMAN Global Series, Athletic Brewing has re-released its limited-edition collaboration brew, Personal Record. The first batch of Personal Record was a resounding success, selling out in just over 30 days while helping inspire athletes and IRONMAN participants everywhere to chase their goals and redefine what’s possible.
“Personal Record is such a unique brew, and we’re thrilled to be bringing it back for the 2023 season,” said Athletic Brewing co-founder and CEO Bill Shufelt. “The recipe development process included Athletic ambassadors, elite racers, our partners at
IRONMAN and members of our brewing team. Personal Record is collaboration personified, and it truly celebrates the incredible
athleticism and capabilities of the human body, mind and spirit.”
Inspired by the IRONMAN athletes who prove that “anything is possible” by crossing finish lines around the world, Personal Record is a tribute to staying the course, chasing goals and knowing that a Personal Record is always within reach. Brewed with turmeric and boasting flavors of mango and tropical hops, Personal Record tastes like victory.
“After a successful launch in 2022, it was a no-brainer to bring Personal Record back to defend its title and celebrate the world of IRONMAN,” said The IRONMAN Group Chief Partnership Officer Matt Wikstrom. “We’re looking forward to announcing and then cheersing our athletes as they cross the line, and for supporters to join us in celebrating the tenacity that IRONMAN inspires and demands.”
Personal Record is brewed with El Dorado and Sabro hops for fruity and tropical notes, and the addition of turmeric gives the brew a vibrant orange hue. At 60 calories, this new non-alcoholic IPA is the perfect complement to goal chasing and striving for athletic excellence.
“We knew that Personal Record would be well received when it first launched in 2022, but we didn’t expect the overwhelmingly positive response to the sentiment behind this beer,” said Shufelt. “IRONMAN is a lifestyle, and training routines are tough. Personal Record is a representation of the incredible community that IRONMAN fosters.”
Athletic Brewing athletes Sam Long and Jackson Laundry will both be competing at Athletic Brewing IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, the first race on the North American circuit, and where triathlons originated in beautiful southern California. Long is coming into the season with two full distance IRONMAN wins, in 2019 and 2021, under his belt, and Laundry is a four-time 70.3 IRONMAN Champion, having won Oceanside 70.3 in 2022. Both have sights set on victory and starting the season off with a bang. Personal Record is not only the name of the Athletic Brewing beer they’ll be enjoying, but a goal they share for race day.
