This week’s dose of Happy Hour mirth is served up by a Vista brewery that was recently opened by husband-and-wife team, Hayden and Kyndall Weir. Dubbed, Weir Beer Co., it’s already making a solid name for itself in North County behind the following beverages…
Monday | Rocko’s Modern High Life: Weir Beer’s first pour is their “tip of the cap” to the American institution that is Miller High Life, with their own version called Rocko’s Modern High Life.
Tuesday | Double Dog Dare Ya’ Jalapeño Lager: Oh Gawd, it’s a pepper beer…or is it? Hayden has a brewing history with pepper beers, but during his time at his last gig as head brewer at Dos Desperados Brewery, he noticed lots of people would mix a small amount of the pepper beer with a clean lager. All the mixing has been removed with this jalapeño lager!
Wednesday | Katie Bar Pale Ale: Ales for ALS has been an amazing partner for breweries all around San Diego. With their yearly collaboration beers dropping in May (AKA: ALS Awareness Month). Weir wasn’t open last May, but that didn’t stop them from taking the Ales for ALS hop blend and making their own beer as soon as they were able!
Thursday | Tommy Pickles Dill Pickle Hard Seltzer: This has been months in the making. When the Weirs first dropped by the studio, they told tales of the legend that is Tommy Pickles. Now, we finally get to taste this next-level dill-pickle hard seltzer.
Friday | Mojo Jojo Mojito Hard Seltzer: At Weir Beer’s tasting room, you’re gonna find a little something for everyone. Creativity is applied, not just to beer, but also to seltzers a la this high-alcohol number called Mojo Jojo Mojito, a 10% ABV (alcohol-by-volume) hard seltzer that takes flavor inspirations from the famous Mojito cocktail.
Weir Beer Co. is located at 1250 Keystone Way in Vista
