2026 Beercasts Placard

This week, ALT 94.9 FM‘s Jeremy Pritchard caught up with Brewmaster Winslow Sawyer of Pure Project Brewing ahead of their 10-year anniversary. That’s right, a year divisible by five, which means it was super-duper special. So, too, were the beers Winslow brought along for him and Jeremy to enjoy on-air. Take it away, Jeremy…

Monday | The Force West Coast Pilsner: Just another reason why its near impossible for a San Diego craft-beer fan to completely make it through Dry January, this weekend finds Pure Project celebrating its 10th anniversary! All week, Winslow joins us to talk about what was on tap during their celebratory beer fest, including today’s beer, which was brewed using an experimental hop to showcase a bright, citrusy-yet-peachy-pine profile with a light, crisp malt backbone.

Tuesday | Sun Rays Like Stilts West Coast Pale Ale: Winslow drops a bomb on how many Pure Project beers were on tap at their anniversary party. It’s no surprise they can feature 50-plus beers when they constantly drop seasonals like today’s West Coast pale ale. Taking it’s name from Tommy Guerrero, the beer, like the song, drifts on like a cloud on a calm breeze. Aromas of resin and citrus hit upfront before the beer instantly cleans up on the back end.

Wednesday | Planetary Alignment Murky IPA: We’re toasting to 10 years of Pure Project with another anniversary beer from their weekend fest, going back to the “murk” with a hazy IPA. This one is like sipping a tropical drink in paradise thanks to big pineapple and mango flavors with subtle hints of orange peel.

Thursday | Deja Fruit with Nectarines & Strata Hops: Winslow loves his barrel-aging program, and you can taste the passion in the glass! Today we’re showing off a barrel-aged sour ale with nectarines and Strata hops. What makes this farmouse saison truly unique is the once-used nectarines, which offer up a subtle addition of flavor that goes along with the light hop addition.

Friday | Gravitas Infinitum Triple Barrel-aged Stout: Viscous is the best way to describe today’s beer. At 18% alcohol-by-volume, it has it’s own gravitational pull. Aged for three months in bourbon barrels, pulled out, then aged again in fresh bourbon barels, then aged again in even more fresh bourbon barrels, this anniversary offering is finally finished with Tahitian vanilla beans, resulting in a perfect ending.
