Ghost Town Perverse Inverse | West Coast IPA (7%): Of the top ten IPAs I have enjoyed in 2026, at least three have emanated from Ghost Town Brewing in West Oakland. This is one of them! Enormously pungent with Krush, Mosaic, Nectaron and Riwaka, these cans were dropped off on Wednesday morning and are indelibly fresh. Stay tuned. A keg of this beer will debut on the draft-list at Bottlecraft’s North Park location in the near future!
Seek Bock Festbier | Festbier (5.3%): A seasonal favorite already, now in its second year! Commissioned for our fellow Drink Good family member Bock Bar, this is firmly in the Wies’n style of a festbier, with more Pilsner malt than Vienna malt. Lighter-bodied and cereal-forward with a hint of toastiness, this is an ideal festbier for the hottest month of the year in San Diego! Spalter Select hops give a kiss of bitterness to balance everything out. Cheers to Seek Beer Co. and many thanks to owner Dave Ohmer and his team!
Russian River Consecration | Imperial Flemish Red Ale (10%): Consecration belongs to the pantheon of craft sour ales, bar none. It was a stroke of genius on the part of Russian River Brewing to age acidic beers in used wine casks, adding yet another layer of complexity and blurring the lines between the two beverages. Consecration is a malt-driven Flemish red by style, featuring both primary souring bacteria inherent to that Belgian subcategory alongside the wild yeast strain Brettanomyces. It is furthermore conditioned on black currants for up to a year in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. This is one of the most unabashed beers in the shop, firing on all cylinders, and is currently available on draft as well as in bottles as I type these words!
