Previously a longstanding staple of San Diego Beer Week, this year’s Capital of Craft Beer Festival is taking place tomorrow at Broadway Pier. Not only will it be stocked by beers from the county’s standout breweries, but local punk band Agent 51 will be headlining the affair. Stoked on the latter value-added, the BFB crew invited the band’s front man, Chris Armes, to sit in and bring along a beer he crafted in collaboration with Chula Vista’s 3 Punk Ales, Red Alert. That red IPA will be on tap at the festival along with Hell Hazer, a hazy IPA from recently resurrected San Diego beer op Black Plague Brewing. So there you have it, two of many great reasons to head downtown and partake in this standout annual affair.
The 2026 Capital of Craft Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, September 19 at Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego, and tickets can be purchased online or at the event
