What We're Drinking 2026
Gene Fielden at Bottlecraft North Park

Gene Fielden | Bottlecraft North Park Manager

Bottlecraft Little Italy will be celebrating Sour SARAday this upcoming Saturday, August 22, in honor of Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (SARA). All beers from this Capitola brewery will have corkage waived to enjoy on the premises, with more on draft! Here are but three of the choices on offer:

Sante Adairius Saison Bernice | Mixed-fermentation Saison (6.5%): Saison Bernice is a truly iconic beer and a calling-card. Some breweries have a single beer that encapsulates their entire ethos, one which is pointed to as the ideal first impression and most frequently consumed ‒ Bernice embodies that for Sante Adairius. If you must only limit yourself to a single beer by SARA, make it this one. Upon spying it on our shelves when it first debuted in San Diego four years ago, a longtime industry regular said to me: “This is my favorite beer.” No qualifications, exceptions or reservations. Soft effervescent cereal malt combines with multiple yeast-strains for a sense of delicate eggshell funk. I have already taken home more than one bottle of this from our latest drop, and I recommend that you do so as well!

Sante Adairius Shared Concepts | Fruited Mixed-fermentation Saison (10.2%): This one is for those who love sour beer and white wine alike. A collaboration with Donkey & Goat, an urban winery from my hometown of Berkeley, this creation marries beer and wine together into one tantalizing drink. A tart saison base is combined with Pinot Gris grapes from northern California for a heady experience. Cheers to amity and exploration across the beer-wine line!

Sante Adairius Bramble Lane | Fruited Mixed-fermentation Saison (7%): Marionberries are a recent innovation in the blackberry world, having been hybridized in Oregon only in the postwar period. They are delicious, inky and tart at once, and lend themselves well to inclusion in mixed-fermentation ales. With earthy, jammy and funky notes to be found within, Bramble Lane is a blackberry wine for beer-drinkers!
