It takes a lot for a beer company to be unique in county awash in breweries, but Barley & Sword Brewing has done just that…and people dig it! Founded a few years back at North Park’s Brewery Igniter facility, this business eschews IPAs and other modern-day beer styles, instead celebrating the Old World ales and lagers of the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic. That game plan has earned them fans whose support allowed the company to open a second, much larger brewery and taproom in Escondido earlier this week.
