This week’s septet of Happy Hour happiness was served up in advance of last weekend’s invitational festival commemorating a whopping nine years of excellence for Carlsbad’s Burgeon Beer Co. Listen in as ALT 94.9 FM‘s Jeremy Pritchard hangs with the energetic individuals who put their hearts and souls into ensuring that event is one of the best in the county each and every year. Take it away, Jeremy…
Monday | Carlsbad Crush Mosaic Pale Ale: It’s going to be a beautiful warm week and a stellar weekend for Burgeon to celebrate its ninth anniversary! All week, Tori Bleher and Melody Campbell join us in the studio to talk about beer, community and music. We start our journey together with an iconic beer for San Diego, Carlsbad Crush; light, bright, citrusy and infinitely crushable!
Tuesday | Stay Golden DDH IPA: One of the things that makes the Burgeon’s anniversary party so special is all the guest brewers they invite to pour at the event. Some even stick around for a collab brew day! Tori and Mel brought in a brand new collab with Cannonball Creek Brewing that hit shelves just in time for the anniversary! Beware…this beer will fool your mind, because nothing that smells this dank should be this crushable.
Wednesday | Campsite IPA: We’ve all heard of KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid. That is exactly what Burgeon does with this resurrected classic! Campfire IPA is at its most simple; the best, most floral hops, grains and yeast. Truly enjoyable, sip after sip, this simple IPA is big on flavor and crushable without beating you over the head with too much of any one thing. You might say it’s perfect for when you’re sitting around the campfire in the company of the people you enjoy the most.
Thursday | Moonlit DDH Hazy IPA: Stripping it down to the basics of a Burgeon hazy IPA, Moonlit encompasses everything that is being free outdoors and, of course, in true Burgeon style it’s light and very crushable. Drinking this double dry-hopped hazy may have you asking, “Did I really see a butt on the can, or was it my imagination?”
Friday | Treevana IPA: Tomorrow is the big Burgeon 9th Anniversary festival, so we wrap the week with one of their flagship beers, Treevana IPA. Big flavor, bright citrus aroma and bitterness falling somewhere between old-school and new-school…it’s no surprise why this is Mel’s favorite beer of all time.
