This week, San Diego Beer News turns four years old, thus also marking four years of this column! A huge thank you to all of our readers near and far. Accordingly, all three beers featured this week are collaborative efforts:

Everywhere / Mcilhenney Deep Roots | West Coast IPA (6.9%): Hot on the heels of their second anniversary celebrations, Everywhere Beer has a collab with Alpine’s very own Mcilhenney Brewing on offer! Deep Roots is a West Coast IPA generously hopped with the unorthodox combination of Chinook and Nelson, leading to aromas of green grapes, lowland marshes and a hint of diesel. Know your roots!

Cellarmaker / Highland Park Timbo Pils | Hoppy Pilsner (5.8%): Timbo needs no introduction ‒ a lager so beloved that it now has an entire week devoted to it! The calling-card of Highland Park Brewery and a towering achievement, Timbo is the intersection of lagering technique and top-notch hops. Mosaic and Citra take the lead, with a snappy and judiciously bitter finish. Each year, HPB invites a number of their brewery friends and colleagues to try their hand at the recipe ‒ Cellarmaker is a repeat guest at the table. These cans landed on a pallet on Monday the 5th and aren’t getting any fresher! This beer is available at all of Bottlecraft’s San Diego locations.

Bottle Logic / Mostra Coffee FOCOCOMO | Barrel-aged Coffee Coconut Imperial Stout (14%): Did you taste Fundamental Observation ‒ landing on last week’s pick-list ‒ and feel that it deserved a round of coffee and coconut on top of all that vanilla? We have just the beer for you. Joining forces with lauded San Diego roaster Mostra Coffee, FOCOCOMO adds heaps of toasted coconut and Philippine Heritage Microlot coffee for an even more intense sensory experience. As both of these ingredients tend to fade quickly, this is a barrel-aged stout that needs no slumber in your beer cellar. Enjoy it sooner rather than later!
