Beachwood Party Crusher | West Coast IPA (7.1%): One of the few rules of thumb around here: if Beachwood has a new West Coast IPA, drink at least one can. This one is a collab, albeit (rather unusually) not with a fellow brewery but rather a skate & fashion brand from New Zealand under the name A Lost Cause. A hops medley of Citra, Idaho 7, Mosaic and Strata make for a cause that is far from lost!

Seek Cou Cou | Alsatian-style Pilsner (4.3%): Where does the time go? Bottlecraft is 13 years old this month! Back in March at the San Diego Beer News Awards, I had the distinct honor to bestow the medal for Best Pilsner upon Dave Ohmer of Seek Beer Co. for his delicious Northern German pilsner Fortune. It soon became self-evident that we ought to ask whether he and his team would be willing to brew our anniversary beer for the occasion – and couldn’t be more delighted with the outcome. Cou Cou (informal French for “Hello!”, typically among close friends or family) is a pilsner in the style of the beers of the Alsace. These light-bodied straw-colored lagers often have a floral bouquet from the Strißelspalt hops grown in the region alongside the justifiably celebrated white wines. Seek sourced some of these selfsame hops as well as pilsner malt from France, making it an unusually terroir-driven beer – and just in time for the Olympics in Paris this summer as well. À votre santé!

Firestone Walker / Highland Park No Ends, No Beginnings | Barrel-aged Imperial Stout (12%): Firestone Walker has been masterfully aging up malt-driven beers for a great number of years now, long enough to trust them implicitly. This exciting first vintage of No Ends, Only Beginnings is a collab with our friends at Highland Park Brewery in Los Angeles, and is everything one could wish for in a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Only a few cases made their way to San Diego, so even if the weather does not seem appropriate currently, grab a bottle and stash it for later in the year!
