We all know that San Diego’s family-run chain of Puesto restaurants puts out stellar Mexican food, but did you know they also produce their own beers from their brewpub in Mission Valley? In this episode of Beer for Breakfast, the crew examines Puesto’s recently canned Clara, a light Mexcian-style lager that’s the brainchild of the county’s foremost lager expert, Doug Hasker. He’s considered the oracle of bottom-fermenting beer knowledge and local brewers regularly reach out to ask him how they can make their lagers better. In recent years, he’s turned the tables, asking fellow brewers how he can perfect his ales, including the IPA you’ll hear all about here. So sit back, crack a cerveza and press play!
Puesto Mission Valley is located at 5010 Mission Center Road, and the beers produced there are available at all of Puesto’s locations throughout San Diego County
