There’s a grand total of one USDA-certified all-organic brewery in all of San Diego County, and that beer biz, Protector Brewery, is the focus of this week’s episode. Get some background on this seven-year-old op from a former Navy SEAL that’s not only using 100% organic hops, malt an yeast, but winning awards and preparing for the debut of its first-ever satellite venue. That kitchen-equipped tasting room is located on San Diego’s bayfront and soft-opens today, with a grand-opening set to take place on July 4. Listen in as the crew tastes two of the beers that will be on-tap downtown, SD Lager and Hide Site, an IPA named after the new location and brewed in collaboration with Societe Brewing. Cheers to local, independent, organic beer!
