When an event is still going strong after 27 years, you know it’s something special. Enter Pizza Port‘s annual Strong Ale Festival, which takes place this weekend and will include a boatload of beers (well) over 8% alcohol-by-volume from the host business as well as breweries from across the Golden State. That includes collaborations like Jawa Juice, a double IPA Pizza Port’s Imperial Beach brewpub concocted with Baja’s Farland Aleworks. Listen in for tasting notes about that and this year’s Strong Ale Fest blend, which marries a Belgian-style quadrupel with an imperial coffee porter.
