It’s one of the county’s smallest beer-making operations, Poway’s lone brewing concern, and it’s been going strong for nearly 20 years. An institution that was all about German lagers before they became uber popular, Lightning Brewery has been guided by owner and Brewmaster Jim Crute, a retired scientists who decided to put his smarts to work following his passion for brewing.
