It’s always fun to feature a brand-new brewery, but it’s especially meaningful when that rookie operation is a community’s first local craft-beer producer in decades. Enter Fox Point Brewing, which brings beermaking back to Encinitas for the first time in a whopping 30 years. Billed as a “farm-to-tap” brewery, it’s a part of a 21-acre sustainability-minded “agrihood” called Fox Point Farms, which includes a restaurant, market, performance stage and more, including farmland growing fruits, vegetables and flora making it into the brewery’s beers. Case in point, a hibiscus-laced hazy IPA the BFB crew samples along with a Vienna-style lager that’s part of Fox Point’s inaugural tap list. Looks like it’s time to add “Little Oaks” to your brewery-touring itinerary!
