It was 1996 when a pair of native islanders opened Coronado Brewing. Thirty years later, not only does is that namesake business still around, but the full-scale brewing company it spawned is one of the largest and healthiest in all of San Diego County. This week, the Beer for Breakfast crew lifts a pair of the company’s most popular beers of all time, Mermaid’s Red Ale and Islander IPA. The latter was rebrewed as part of Coronado Brewing’s 30-year anniversary festivities, which are taking place all month at the beer biz’s OG brewpub and Bay Park tasting room. Cheers to local independent breweries holding it down for multiple decades!
Coronado Brewing is located at 1205 Knoxville Street in Bay Park and 170 Orange Avenue in Coronado
